The Grimoire Spread

As a child, I always longed for that one book of spells, the great Grimoire of my dreams, that would teach me how to do magic like in the stories I loved so much.  Books are kind of a thing for me, and I’ve always gotten magic out of them.

Now, this will probably not come as a surprise to a lot of you, but to a cartomancer with any skill at sorcery, the Tarot are more than simply a tool for divination.  Like all complete systems of divination, they can be used very handily for casting spells as well.

However, the cards can do more than simply cast spells.  They can teach magic.  You simply must learn how to communicate with them.

The following is a spread I like to use when I want to learn new magic.  I created it based on Winifred Sanderson and her book, and also on the spellbook Mr. Gold gives Regina to teach her magic.
