so i’m totally a worry wart. literally about everything. especially about the ones i love being safe and secure without any harm (whether it be physically/emotionally/mentally etc) so i decided to make a seashell charm for my boyfriend!
*and remember, do not do any spells without the consent of whomever you’re doing it for of course! (unless it’s a hex, then you hex that motherfucker like the powerful witch you aRE)
you can also make them for yourselves as well, and i’ll mention the slight variances if you want to do so!!
~what you’ll need~
– a seashell with two halves, clam shells work best since they can be small and easily portable. the halves don’t have to be attached together, just find two halves that work!!
-pink Himalayan salt (for love, protection, warding) OR just sea salt would do!
– a black candle (or any candle you associate with protection)
– a white candle
– two apple seeds (or one if you’re making the charm for yourself, but totally optional)
– a small piece of black tourmaline or obsidian (or any other stone you associate with protection)
– piece of paper to burn & fire safe place to burn it
– a pen to write on it
– something to mix the ashes/salt in the shell (i used the back of my pen hehehe)
~the spell~
1) cast any circles/prep your space how you do for any of your usual witchy business. take a moment to clear your mind and set your intentions.
2) light the white and the black candle & hold the seashell in your hand. at this time you want to meditate and fill the shell with protective power from yourself & whatever aid you call upon in your practice (god/deities/the universe etc) i’m secular, so i use the power within me and the power of the universe.
3) rub the shell gently to transfer your energies. imagine it being strengthened by your touch, so nothing can get through it’s walls.
4) write the name of your loved one on a piece of paper. you can also add sigils as well. in a fire safe container, light it and let it burn until it’s all ash. sprinkle the ashes into half of the shell.
5) add the pink himilayan salt to the ashes in the shell. using the back of the pen (or a better stirring tool) mix the ashes in with the salt.
6) add the two (optional) apple seeds. representing you and the one you wish to protect. together, you are in the shell and are safe from any harm.
7) add the crystal (black tourmaline/obsidian/other you associate with protection) to the shell.
8) next place the other half of the shell on top of the one filled with ingredients. take the black candle and CAREFULLY pour wax over the edges until the whole shell is sealed and no salt can come out (this took a little while to do, if it’s too tedius feel free to glue it shut and melt wax on top of the shell) (also i got hot wax on my hands a LOT and it hurt, so be CAREFUL)
AND YOU’RE DONE!! tell the person the charm is for, when you give it to them, to give it a shake every night to activate it’s protective powers.
