An Eclipse Blessing

I hope this night-and-day brings the close of one life stage for you, and the beginning of another. I hope the change is a good one. I hope there is a change at all, because change, even frightening-seeming ones, carry the possibility for growth and healing.

I hope you look up at the sun-behind-the-moon (through eclipse glasses, guys, seriously) and feel small. I hope that feeling of insignificance gives way to wonder. I hope the wonder allows gratitude and love for everyone looking at the same sky.

I hope, as was the hope so many years ago, that the celestial bodies look down on an Earth at peace.

Or someday will.

I hope you are good to yourselves and one another. I hope there are good things right around the corner.

It’ll be dark for a while. But the sun will come back. It always does.

And like one of my favorite posts says: I hope the pain fades.
