Cemetery forests would be great, if you could get them to work out ecologically. Not only would you have healthy, sustainable burials with physical markers to mourn at, you’d also inspire emotional investment in conservation and promote old-growth forests. No one wants to chop down great-great-great-grandpa Karkat the oak tree for lumber.

@ask-treekat

you’re kidding me

You want a haunted forest. That’s how you get a haunted forest

Well, better a haunted forest than a haunted useless plot of land filled with concrete and steel and hundreds of gallons of poison that we have to constantly manicure. Haunted forests are classy *and* contribute to the world by absorbing CO2 and producing oxygen, providing shelter for wildlife, and help get goth teenagers to appreciate nature.

“We laid him to rest up on boot hill. Now he’s a right pretty poplar that moans his killer’s name when there’s a light breeze and a full moon.”

I could get behind this plan.

Also: either all forests are haunted or none are

Hobbyist forester here. All forests are haunted, yes, but not necessarily by things formally human. Also this is a good idea and I endorse it.

I’ve been talking about this for ages

It’s what I want when I go. There are a couple of these in the UK.

Date a girl who has seen the end of your relationship. She has seen how it burns down into ashes, to be blown away like nothing was ever there.

Date a girl who loves you anyway.

You both happily marry and live on in marital bliss for the rest of your lives. Eventually, though, as is inevitable for all living things, your health begins to deteriorate with age, and you die peacefully in your sleep. There was no sadness upon hearing the news of your death, everyone knew it was time, and you had made peace with the world.

Many years earlier, you had made your final wishes known, and planned your cremation. You never liked the idea of being locked in a box six feet underground for the rest of eternity and especially disliked the idea of being pumped full of harsh and harmful chemicals, at high expense for your family.

The service was lovely, and your family and friends gathered in your home to tell stories about you and remember your life. Your friends and family then piled into your niece’s car and drove to the funeral home. People thought it was strange that your wife requested that she be able to be there when the cremation was to begin and that she be able to light the machine, but accepted it nonetheless. She saw it as a sort of final goodbye, a brief, personal way to send you off onto the next leg of your eternal journey, sending the atoms of your body back into the earth to create more beautiful things.

As she pushed that button and said her goodbyes, she remembered that she had seen the relationship end like this, in flames, crumbling into ash, and was glad that she decided to continue your relationship, realizing that both of you had become better people because of each other’s companionship.

Later on your wife decides to scatter some of your ashes in the garden near the flowers and trees that you had lovingly cultivated together, the fragments of your ashes floating away, off to create beautiful things for the entire human race.

Orion “Hunt for Success” Spread

moonrisemagick:

This was a request by @resonance-of-libra! Thank you so much friend!

Orion is a constellation that’s visible around the world, though you may not see in the sky all the time since it rises and sets at times inconvenient for observing for part of the year. I spent a lot of time staring at Space Bae when I was awake for crew practice at 4AM. There’s a TON of mythology surrounding the constellation from a whole host of ancient civilizations, but since the Ancient Greeks said Orion was a legendary hunter, I decided to make a hunt for success spread! As always my suggestions are below but the ultimate interpretation is up to you!

1. Saiph: Kappa-Orionis is one of the four main “frame” stars of the Orion constellation. Its traditional name literally means sword, so it represents the tools you personally have ready to use to get to where you want to go. What skills are innate within you? How can you use them to start on the path to success, however you define it?

2. Rigel: This incredible blue-white supergiant, also called Beta-Orionis, is actually a part of a multiple star system containing anywhere from three to five stars! As the foot of the giant, this position represents the environmental supports already in place for you. How can you use your surroundings to your advantage? Who can help you if you need it?

3. Orion’s Belt: Comprised of the three stars Mintaka, Alnilam, and Alnitak (Delta-Orionis, Epsilon-Orionis, and Zeta-Orionis), the hunter’s belt has its own unique mythology for a lot of cultures. This position represents what is holding you back from achieving success. What factors are keeping you from reaching your destination? How can you overcome them and continue on your way? NOTE: you can read this as one card or pull three individual cards representing each star to gain more insight.

4. Bellatrix: Also known as Gamma-Orionis, this star represents the arm of the hunter. This position represents potential plans of attack for you. What’s a component of a good strategy for success? What should you keep in mind as you chase after your goals?

5. Betelgeuse: Also known as Alpha-Orionis, this massive red supergiant is actually poised to go supernova soon, and when it does will create heavy elements that will spread across the universe. From its remains may grow new stars entirely, and in this way the stellar life cycle will begin anew. This position represents the key transitions you may need to make in order to succeed. In what ways will you need to change your mindset? How will the hunt for success help you grow and develop as a person?

Opt. 6. Meissa: Meissa, or Lambda-Orionis, is a dim star that is not part of the main asterism, though it is a part of the constellation. It represents the head of the hunter, and for this reason is an oracle card position that will provide some insight as to the core nature of the success you are looking for. What is driving you? What are you truly hunting for?

Opt. 7. Sirius: Though Sirius is not truly a member of Orion I had to include my favorite star. As the brightest star in our night sky, Sirius is another oracle card position that represents the bright light that you share with the world. How will achieving the goals you set out to achieve allow you to make the world a better place? What good will come of this not just for yourself, but for others?

What gave you this general confidence magic is real? Was it some extraordinary occurence or a lot of them in a row? And how did those slaps from spirits look like (if you don’t mind talking about it)?

:

Some of those slaps were gentle, like funny happenstances.
Some of those slaps were also harsh, which were not so funny and quite jarring events.
That’s all I care to elaborate on it.

For such a long time, I doubted and doubted. I doubted when it became real. I doubted because I didn’t want it to be as real as it was becoming. There came a certain point, though, when I couldn’t deny it any longer. It had leaked into every part of my life, chased me down like a dog.
It’s tough to talk about specifics. For one, who would believe them? Fantastical things are meant to be whispered, not shouted. For another, the things that I had to pass through to get to this point aren’t to be expounded upon. They’re very private.

You know it’s real when you don’t get a choice in deciding whether it is or not.

Deep under the world of man. Down, where the luminous flowers bloom and guardians roam. Gods most fear wait with outstretched arms, ready to guide you home. Fear not the darkness and the deep; come, join us, and make yourself at home. 🖤

I have a feeling ya’ll gonna hear a lot from me today …

Calling upon entities of whom you do not have any previous dealings for the sake of a spell you find on the internet can wreak havoc on your existence. I would advise you at least read their Wikipedia page before proceeding. Go forward with at least a kernel of knowledge.

I mean, do what you want. No sweat of my nose, but when that entity tells you about some contract you don’t know anything about, remember this post.
