Hi! Which companies sell herbal smokes? Which one are your favourites? Which herbs can you smoke? I’m interested in trying, but without Cannabis

You can definitely google it! Sorry I only smoke herbs I grow so I don’t know anything mainstream. However, I wouldn’t smoke anything with St. John’s Wart, Mugwort, or Skullcap. You’ll find people tell you otherwise but I personally find it risky. Good luck!🌹

What are the risks to smoking St Johns Wort, Mugwort or Skullcap?? And what are your favorite smoking herbs???

I do not know about skullcap or mugwort, but I smoke St. John’s wort. The biggest risk with it is that it can cause miscarriage and it can cancel out estrogen based birth control.

Also, for the anon who asked the original question. Mountain Rose herbs sells a TON of herbs for cheap. They are who I use for get all my herbs. There is another company, I think it was Bear Creek Something, that sells premade herbal smokes.

I don’t think that’s an accurate statement and I don’t think it’s very safe for you to say something so misleading?

St John’s Wort does interact negatively with hormones not just birth control so if you’re transitioning it could seriously delay your progress. As well as hormones it also negatively interacts with many anti-anxiety and depression medications. They actually interact so negatively together that France has banned the entire use of St. John’s Wort product. Japan, Canada, and the UK are currently relabeling all SJW to proper warnings and Canada is also discussing banning it.

It can cause some side effects such as trouble sleeping, vivid dreams, restlessness, anxiety, irritability, stomach upset, fatigue, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, skin rash, diarrhea, and tingling.

It is recommended that if you suffer from certain digestive dieases like U.C., IBS-C, IBS-D, among others not to take SJW as it can be a further irritant. If you suffer from PTSD, BPD, CPTSD, intrusive thoughts, or really anything other than very mild depression you should seriously consider not taking SJW and talking to a doctor first. Especially if you are medicated.

When taken by mouth in large doses, it might cause severe reactions to sun exposure. It’s also been linked to causing infertility.

Please do your fucking research before commenting shit like that on my post.

On to the next one, Skullcap.

There isn’t enough scientific evidence to determine the long term side effects. However, my major issue with skullcap is the fact it has many breeds and you can find at least three of them carried in stores while only one type(Scuttelaria lateriflora) has been studied for medicinal uses. Some skullcap comes mixed with teucrium and germander which is known to cause severe liver problems.

While taking it as a tea is extremely mild and can be safe, smoking it is entirely different. If smoked in too high of a dosage or too frequently it can cause seizures, twitching, and anxiety.

Skullcap is also linked hypoglycemia(please don’t take it if you’re diabetic) and its’ recommended people with spleen/stomach problems stay away although I haven’t done the reading on why that is. This is especially true to Chinese Skullcap.

Finally, Mugwort.

Again, something that is safe in moderation and in tea but not always by smoking often. This is a herb that I’ve found people are commonly allergic to so I think it’s something that should be mentioned more often. If you’re allergic to

ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, or anything in the

Asteraceae/Compositae plant family you should use caution.

Mugwort also has hallucinogenic properties. Again if you suffer from any mental illnesses and/or are medicated for them please use caution. Mugwort contains

thujone, which is toxic in large amounts or under prolonged intake. Keep in mind you will always get a higher chemical intake when smoking vs tea.

As a general rule of thumb you really shouldn’t be smoking any of these herbs while pregnant.

“But Faye I see people smoking mugwort and st johns wort on instagram and they’re okay.”

Ok, well I see people smoking two packs a day who also appear to fine. Does that make nicotine use safe? Use your fucking head, just because you can’t inherently see the side effects doesn’t mean it’s okay.

Herbs I totally recommend smoking and think are safe if bought from a safe source that doesn’t farm in pounds of chemicals:

  • Lavender, it’s wonderful so many things please read about it here! It can however give you the munchies, give you a minor headache, or make you poop. Just keep it to moderation and you’ll be fine.
  • Chamomile, it may make you very sleepy.
  • Mint, totally bomb if you have a cold or a headache. Again, if you smoke too much you’ll poop.
  • Rose, however, it is very high in vitamin c. If you bleed easy, are anemic, have sickle cell disease, diabetes, or a G6PD deficiency please ask your doctor before using.

That’s it, that’s the list I’m 100% comfortable with. I have of course smoked other herbs and some are for the most part safe but these are the only ones I’m absolutely comfortable with.

Selective Spirit Door-Bar

qedavathegrey:

As far as I can tell there are two types of spirit workers – those who are always available and those who set time aside. I value myself of being the latter. I like my place and I like it free of disturbances, as such I have always been very thorough when setting my perimeters. I don’t just bar the main doors, I would bar every doorway – just in case should someone break through one, there would still be containment so that I could manage the issue without worry. While this is a great defensive, I find that communicating with spirits in my home can be somewhat difficult – even when given permission to enter. Given my recent move, I elected to try a new strategy – which so far has paid off quite well so far. That is a selectively permeable boundary, through which those who share my blood/spirit (ancestors) or given my blessing may pass. Now, you can rest assured that my bedroom will still be spelled up like Fort Knox, but at least I’m becoming a little more hospitable, right?

I digress.

To Perform the Ritual, gather:

  • Brick Dust
  • Salt – a half/half blend of black and white
  • White Chalk – and/or Cascarilla
  • Sulphur

  • Vinegar
  • Saliva
  • Blood

Optional: to add a little more fire to those who might try to pass the boundary – add in a blend of used coffee grounds, chile powder, black pepper, iron oxide and dark rum (pine tar is a great addition, too, but it’s hard to find)

Don’t waste your time on any ceremonious nonsense for this one, just combine your dry ingredients first and then the wet and toss/churn/shake your concoction aptly. Your ratio and consistency is dependent on your preferences, but I like more of a dry paste. It really depends on how fine your brick dust is – for chunkier, hand-broken bricks, you’re not going to have a paste one way or another and that’s completely fine, just dampen your ingredients. For a very fine dust, you want to add a bit more to ensure your powder will hold once dry: a bit more vinegar can remedy an overly dry mix.

Take your paste and run it along the base of each entrance to your home. After each has been door has been dressed, read the following incantation as you “close” the door:

Mind these words – for they bear weight and consequence:
Those of blood and spirit blessed – yet kinsman all the same,
For it is they whose lines I tie,
And they who govern fate;
But to the wayfarer and the miscreant,
No tiding favor found,
These walls be charmed
These doors be crossed
The ill might find no solace;
By witch’s blood –
By witch’s word –
By witch’s will –
‘Tis I who mark the Gates

To close the door, place both index fingers together at the middle of the frame overhead. As you read, trace your fingers along to the corners, down their respective sides, then closing them together at the base of the door. I like to then walk through the door and “cross” it from inside. That’s been the hardest habit to break, as every time I walk through the door, I was used to ‘X’ing it immediately.

Good luck and good barring!

MY WITCHY FRIENDS, GET YOURSELF A JAR OF LOCAL HONEY.

will-o-the-witch:

  • Honey is always a good thing to have around for any witch that brings food into their craft. Besides the popular “honey-pot” spells, it’s also great for offerings and anything designed to “sweeten” the relationship between two people, romantically or platonically!
  • Local honey is often considered to be better for you! That’s because it’s made with the stuff from around you, so it’s more likely to be specially-tuned to help you with what you’ll actually be encountering!
  • When you buy local, you’re helping small-scale farmers and small business owners! Depending on where you live you may even be able to buy the honey directly from the beekeepers!
  • Bees, man. We gotta help them out and support them!
  • When you’re done, free jar. Free jar.

Wrong meditation technique

Many Westerners think meditation is about having a blank empty mind with no though occurring at all.

They get upset when they can’t achieve an empty thoughtless mind. But actually this is an incorrect understanding of meditation and the wrong goal to aim for.

You’ll never get a blank empty mind, meditation is actually about observation, just watch whatever is going on, witness it without getting involved.
Be just a witness without any action or reaction to whatever you witness.

Hello dear, I’d love a tarot reading! Aries/Taurus, 28. 4 and 9. Question: What should my next steps in restructuring my practice be?

kodynasty:

Why of course my dear. Pardon If I’m bad at the moment. (just woke up)

It seems that you have found yourself shifting from your orriginal stare, but that is all in well, for you were not meant to stay stagnant. And you find yourself in what seems to be a stand still, but being able to complete the tasks that you have started, or there is a long time in between.

But stay determined. You are the one in control of your craft and no one else. Oportunities are all around you, pull from what you have already done and what you have and grow even further through curiousity and practice.

Thank you so much! 💜💜💜

How do I know if I’m a real witch? A lot of what I’ve read says that you have to be born to a family of witches, or that you have to have a near-death experience, or that the spirits have to reach out to you, but none of that has happened to me. Can you do a Tarot reading for me please? I’m afraid that’s why I don’t feel any power when I do spells…I’ll pay if you agree.

thehoneybeewitch:

My friend, you don’t have to pay for a Tarot reading. And you don’t need one.

The witchblood flows through all living things. The witchfire burns eternal in the deepest earth. The first spell you do, even if it’s just lighting a candle and stuttering out a rhyme, kindles the spark inside you. Witchcraft is the gift everlasting, and all can partake of it. No mortal can control it, and no person or organization holds rights to its sharing.

But, if you’re still nervous, then here.

I name you a Witch. I pass you a spark.

For I am a witch, by blood and initiation. And if it soothes your mind, then I say again-

I name you Witch. Welcome, cousin.
