It’s not that Slytherins are evil, we’re ruthless.

We are an “at any cost” mindset. We will do whatever it takes to win, to succeed, to survive.

If a friend is sick and we have to cross mountains to save them, where others go around, or go over, or make a plan, we crumble the mountain.

We will destroy those who harm us or ours. If you hurt our loved ones, others will console them, go through legal channels in hopes of righting wrongs, we just grab a bat and ask for an address.

We’re not evil, we just do whatever it takes to get shit done.

that’s what evil is

Evil is seeing wrong done and saying “not my problem.”

Evil is harming someone simply because you can.

Evil is telling someone they’re not as good as your for arbitrary reasons and then doing everything in your power to keep them lesser and below you.

Evil is using your privilege and power to only benefit yourself.

Evil is abusing others and then covering it up with money or lies or more abuse.

Evil is being a horrible person because “lol”

Are some Slytherins evil? Yes.

So are some Griffindors, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws.

I’m considered evil by those I’ve harmed because they want to victimize themselves and garner pity. But I’ve never harmed anyone who hadn’t first hurt me or mine.

But for those I’ve defended, for the people that know I’ll grab a baseball bat and ask for an address, they know me as a protector and friend and confidant. They know that I am loyal even past the outrun of our friendship.

They know that sometimes “evil” is what it takes to get shit done for the better. Because some other people would rather sit around and wait for things to improve. I don’t have time to wait.
