One might jump to thinking punishment when “discipline” comes up. But it’s more like being firm with yourself getting things done. For example, I try to discipline myself to pray every day (I forget a lot) and to do an offering prayer once every Sunday (when I am in a fit mind to). This can also be secular – like being disciplined to work out every day, or to eat three meals a day, or to say something nice to someone/yourself every day.
If you can take some self control to work consistently on improving your life, that’s what you’d be doing to follow this Maxim, in my opinion.
Sometimes spirit work is not seeing a spirit for a month and deciding that you were making it up the whole time.
Sometimes spirit work is forgetting that your companion is there and then they jump scare you by knocking something over because they’re fed up with you.
Sometimes spirit work is meeting something so terrifying you don’t travel to the astral for weeks.
Sometimes spirit work is meeting a spirit who is an absolute sweet heart but looks terrifying and upsetting them because you immediately start screaming when you see them for the first time.
Sometimes spirit work is having your companion leave because they need their space and you get sad waiting for them to return.
A short comic about the way we view animals. Vultures are typecast as cowardly scavengers, often seen as a thing of evil, where eagles are seen as a symbol of freedom and courage.
Nevermind that an eagle will willingly eat carrion itself- the most common prey for these birds are things like trout or rabbits or squirrels- hardly a fight for the ages. The vulture however? May have to contend with other scavengers many times its size.
Don’t think that it doesn’t ‘work,’ just because it doesn’t hunt.
This was an experimental page done to test my paneling abilities in inDesign. I like how it works a lot. I just need to figure out some proportions a bit better and set up a template.
