If anyone has any information/resources on Cernunnos that would be relevant for a beginning worshipper, please let me know. I’m a witch who’s worked with the Theoi for a while, and this is the first time I’ve really ventured outside the Greek pantheon.
I can totally help you out with this; I’ve been actively working with Cernunnos for almost two years now!
Firstly;
I can’t stress this enough
but I’m a gaulish polytheist, so my view on Cernunnos is different from most. I try to worship him from his roots rather then whatever he’s been turned into.
He’s pretty much the god of wealth, death and liminality. I mainly work with the death aspect. He’s a very quiet god, and I’ve only ever felt/heard him about two times, maybe three.
I highly suggest you read Not Your Mother’s Horned God and get yourself familiar with @freecernunnos They reblog a lot of misinformation about Cerny. Also maybe a good idea to touch base with the history of Gaul. As always, thebloodybones has a good resource page to get you started.
It may be a bit daunting, since the gauls wrote jackshit down and we pretty much have very little info to go on. Though, dont get discouraged, It’s been very rewarding every since I started worshiping him!
Witchcraft isn’t that scary; it’s pretty much obsessing over crystals, collecting tarot decks and tiny glass bottles, buying every essential oil and incense you can physically get your hands on, choking on sage smoke and screaming into the forest occasionally.
You do not have to come into your faith with fully formed and flushed out beliefs. It’s okay to let your beliefs grow, take shape, and become refined as you feel your way through your faith and learn more. Don’t feel like you have to have answers for everything on day one. Let yourself grow.
‘’The Fallen’’
I’ve made my final decision and chose yellow. Most people preferred the pink flowers and I liked that contrast also, but the shape of the yellow felt more right to me as it fits the theme of ‘’falling star/angel’’ more.
I think yellow is nice to see in real life, but in photographs not so much…So I made the yellow more orange…I am pleased now 😀
