Hello! I don’t know you or anything, but I thought I’d say hello and I hope you’re doing well! Have a lovely night. šŸ’œ

THAT IS 310% OKAY I LOVE MAKING NEW FRIENDSĀ

sorry, can you tell I’m a little enthusiastic? I’m a little enthusiastic!

Hello to you too! I hope you are doing well also, and that your night is excellent. I am too tired for as early as it is and have too much laundry to do to be this sleepy … but I will power through somehow. ^.^Ā

I’m doing excellent! My husband and I are going on vacation Thursday and I’m so excite! 😁

I have laundry to do tomorrow as well. Boo. lol

Oh that sounds like so much fun! Where are you going? I have been wanting to take a vacation with my fiancee for AGES but we just haven’t had the time/money/scheduling right, so … maybe someday. We’re getting married in September, so we’re hoping we can do maybe a belated honeymoon thing in a few months.

Laundry is bad. Dishes are worse. I’ve decided I’m mostly tackling laundry tonight ^.^Ā

We are going to his highschool reunion in Western North Carolina and then heading to the Eastern Coast of NC to visit with his family for his sister’s birthday.
Mountains and ocean! Two of my favorite places! I’ma be loaded with feels next week. šŸ˜‚
Hubby and I were married in September too! Our anniversary is the 20th.

I think I dread laundry more than dishes… but maybe they’re just equally worthy of hate in my eyes so I can’t distinguish. *shrug* lol

if a teenager is at your door and they are wearing a costume!! please give them candy!! they are still in it for the halloween spirit and it honestly no different from a little kid in a costume. they are just as excited and happy as all the other lil tykes and dont you dare tell them they are ā€œtoo old for trick-or-treatingā€ because that will literally break their hearts and that’s not cool.

Its getting close to Halloween again so I just thought I’d reblog this again

And ifĀ ā€œdon’t be rude to teenagers over a stupid jawbreakerā€ isn’t enough for you, considerĀ

  • You can’t tell how old a kid is just by looking. I’ve known multiple 5th graders who were taller than I am, and I’m 25 years old. With their faces hidden by masks, you won’t be able to tell they’re elementary schoolers, but they still are.Ā
  • Lots of older siblings are expected to take their younger siblings trick-or-treating, and they only get paid in candy.Ā
  • You don’t know if that teenager is developmentally disabled.Ā
  • You don’t know if that teenager spent most of their childhood in a hospital or sick and has never had the traditional trick-or-treat experience before.
  • You don’t know if this is that teenager’s first Halloween in America, and they just want to experience a piece of American culture.
  • You don’t know if that teenager ever gets candy any other day of the year.Ā
  • You don’t know if that teenager has eaten anything at allĀ today.Ā

And those are just things I can think of off the top of my head.Ā

Ā My younger brother is autistic. When he was twelve, we took him trick or treating and a woman gave him a hard time because people in my family are just tall from an early age. He was genuinely hurt and upset, and did not understand why this woman was being mean to him.

But I shouldn’t have to justify why a twelve year old should get candy. Or any teenager for that matter.

If they’re in costume or with someone in costume, give them candy, dammit.

Halloween is for everyone.

The Deity Devotion Challenge

will-o-the-witch:

I did not come up with every layer of this on my own. Some of the elements are from friends, that I’ve incorporated into this!Ā  I’m mostly publishing it as a dedication for myself to do it, but I figured other people may be interested in it! This is also a challenge, and is designed to be quite difficult on purpose. IĀ don’t recommendĀ involvingĀ any sort of dedication or oath at the beginning if you think there’s aĀ big chance you’ll fail;Ā that’s the fastest way to piss off a deity.Ā I’d recommend doing it with a deity you already have a relationship with and want to strengthen that bond with, but you do you!

So. The challenge lasts for thirty days. In those thirty daysĀ I will accomplish the following:

  • Write an invocation to the deity, inviting them to join you and stay within you for the duration of this challenge. As a friend put it, ā€œyou’re going on a walk with them.ā€ This is the first and initiatory event of the next 30 days. Time starts now.
  • Daily offerings. Yes, daily. My personal catch they must be different offerings every time, forcing you to get creative and really dig. Variations upon a theme is fine, but no direct repeats.
  • Daily meditation on the subject of the deity, or an aspect of the deity.
  • Seek out their domain as much as you can. This can involve learning/performing acts and skills sacred to the deity, going to locations sacred to a deity, or anything else that brings you closer to them. For example, a nature deity could be honored by going on a hike, or even a botanical garden.
  • Keep a journal to record and reflect on every step of this journey. Write what questions you have, what lessons you learn, and any epiphanies. Write down your thinking process as you decide what actions to take. Just document it! Ā
  • A follow up offering to the deity, thanking them for walking with you and all of the lessons they’ve brought to you during this time.

How has this month been treating you?

Hey there, darlin’! This month, aside from the political climate and all the terrible tragedies and hate in the world, has been rather decent to me. I’ve had more days where I’ve felt like actually getting up and DOING THINGS, rather than sleeping my mornings away and feeling like I had nothing to really get up and motivated for.

I’ve begun making some peace with myself about people who had stepped back from my life without farewells and others whom I’ve lost. I’ve started to make some kind of amends with my emotionally abusive mother who passed in January ‘15 (for those who don’t know). I’ve started to grow and it hurts like a bitch, but I have realized that I feel more like… me lately. I hate that the bad things had to happen, but I’m seeing the growth and the learning these things are providing me with.

My creativity made a sudden return and I’m hoping that it will settle in and keep me involved and present more often in the coming months. Hubby and I also started working on decluttering the house a bit and I’m looking forward to keeping that up upon our return.

Speaking of that! Our vacation officially begins this Thursday and I’m super excited! It’s one of the few things that has brought me a lot of motivation these past few weeks. I get to visit the mountains of North Carolina for Hubby’s highschool reunion then the coat of Eastern North Carolina to visit my in-laws. Good stuff right there!

So overall, dear, it’s been painful and concerning and a time of serious growth and self realization. It’s only going to get better from here, though! Thank you for asking, Ivan. I appreciate your friendship so much! šŸ’œ

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
Shout out to all you lovelies who reblogged my post and helped me reach this milestone! You guys mean so much to me and I can’t thank you enough!

The tarot readings I’ve promised will be taking place towards the end of the first week of September and will be for my wonderful followers only!

Thank you again and I hope to start heading from you new followers soon! šŸ’œ
