EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RETROGRADES!

The planets, including Earth always move in a direct motion around the Sun. But, seen from Earth it could look as if a planet is stationary – has come to a halt, not moving or even moving backwards.   This is simply an optical illusion caused by the fact we are looking at planets orbiting the Sun at different speeds from Earth. This backward course is called a retrograde motion.   There is less power and potential in a retrograde planet than there is in one moving forward.

Retrogrades favor reunion but not a return to an old situation because a reunion is short-term, not good for trying to restore or make something permanent.  A retrograde can also be an indication of information being withheld.  However, this depends on the planet that is retrograde and the sign it’s in.  Beware of start something new during a retrograde cycle.

When the planets after Saturn are retrograde, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, there is a degree of subtle sabotage, undermining, deceit, deception and things hidden, all of which often don’t reveal themselves until the planet has moved forward.  Below are examples of retrogrades from Mercury – Saturn and t heir effects.

MERCURY:  Frequent changes of mind, problems with travel, all forms of communication, siblings, relatives, business, projects, plans, ideas, study, health, employees/employers and potential for misunderstandings.    During this cycle Mercury favors dialogue with Self using modalities such as meditation. Retrogrades are always positive when focused internally as opposed to externally.  If anything is externalized it is unlikely to succeed.

VENUS: Problematic for love except when dealing with an existing relationship/friendship/partnership.  New relationships/friendships will not work out. Negotiations with others and contractual agreements will be broken.  The same  for peace treaties/diplomatic relations.   Social events should be planned for after the retrograde is over, as the event will lack the warmth needed for success and experience hindrance and let-downs.

Venus also represents legalities and currency. Any plans to increase during this time will also fail or at least the financial reward would not be that much. Venus also deals with land and real estate.    Borrowing money/loans is’t a good idea either because the Financial institution will turn out to be unhelpful/not interested in giving out funds.

Venus works well, when, without any outside motivations for success, an artistic pursuit is strived for, then great  personal enjoyment is derived from it without involving others.

MARS Mars represents action, energy, new beginnings and enterprise .  When the planet retrogrades all external action is inhibited.    Out of all the planets Mars is the one that influences people to take action immediately, especially during retrograde cycles.   If any  kind of initiated action is started during this particular cycle it will be left undone/unfinished because of impatience and rash actions.  Mars is the same as the others signs as it loses its positive external action during a retrograde.

Also if a new job is begun in a retrograde, hard work will go un-noticed and the person underrated.  Plus there is the strong possibility of conflict  with employers/employees.  People will be left unimpressed and consider the person useless.   Regardless of good intentions, Mars is very bad for starting wars or any type of conflict.  The person who initiates the confrontation will lose regardless of how long the action continues.  The same applies to legal matters.  Mars is the planet for causing trouble.    Anything connected to blood, surgeries, accidents, sharp instruments and quarrels will have a not very good outcome.  It’s not advised to engage in surgery either, unless it’s an emergency, because with Mars retrograde, excessive blood loss is a possibility.    Violence erupting is another Mars retrograde trait, leading to bloodshed.   Anything to do with cars should be handled with care too during this cycle.  Last but not least.  Marriage near or during Mars retrograde has the potential to be filled with conflict, difficulties and arguments.

JUPITER: Jupiter influences anything connected to higher education, philosophy, literary, publishing, other cultures, travel abroad, good luck, opportunity, expansion. All of these areas will be less favorable/successful during the retrograde.   Little good or anything positive will come form efforts made to move forward. If returning home or to a familiar location, things won’t go as planned and little if any progress made.  Moving should be done after the cycle is over.

Politics and political parties also come under Jupiter.  If a campaign is started during this time, the campaign will not succeed and the political party will probably lose.   If trying to create career success through expansion e.g a tour to gain popularity, nothing much will come from it.   Jupiter in retrograde withholds its benevolence.  Although when it comes to spiritual matters, inner development, without any intent to externalize, the outcome would be beneficial.   This is because the efforts would be solely based on inner growth and development of consciousness, then Jupiter retrograde brings success.

SATURN: A retrograde Saturn indicates, obstacles, difficulties, delays and very little co-operation from those in positions of power/authority.  The form or structure of anything new will be weak and be subject to problems and setbacks of all kinds.  Attention to detail is very much a necessity during this particular retrograde.  The best course of action during the four month cycle is to restructure what has already been created and focus on personal physical structure.

If I’m not supposed to like villainous characters why are they always the best dressed

I mean… watching fairy tales like why would I want to be this insecure girl child that thinks the solution to her problems is getting married?

WHEN THIS BITCH … over here…

is demonstrating effective female leadership, self-confidence, and damn! Lookie there, she’s got her own fucking castle and has no one telling her what to do…
Let’s also talk about her effective use of accessories.
I could go on…

“may all your wounds be mortal”

This is beautiful.

Though, it’s not “all your wounds” (tutte le tue ferite) but rather “May my wound” (la mia ferita).

It’s feminine singular and I do kinda love the personalization of the writing.

But it’s also … it’s kind of grammatically incorrect but it’s also very colloquial and dialectal.

Che la mia ferita sia mortale is more than just a saying … it’s almost an invocation.

It’s also less ‘may’ and more ‘that’ so it should be more like …

That my wound be lethal

Wolves React To Gamekeeper Who Had Been Away On Maternity Leave

“WHERE’S YOUR PUPPY! WE WANNA SEE YOUR PUPPY! DID YOU JUST HAVE THE ONE? DO YOU HAVE THEM WITH YOU? ARE THERE PHOTOS?”

I’m not a hundred percent positive but I’m pretty sure this is the wild life center where I visited wolves.

And the safety briefing included the question “So if you’re pregnant, do you want to know or not?”

Turns out there had been a bit of an awkward situation once where the keepers had casually mentioned a woman’s pregnancy in a group, and she herself didn’t even know yet. Turns out the wolves are excellent at telling if you’re pregnant and the keepers can tell based on their body language.  They get all odd and careful around pregnancy. (Even wolves knows that you have to take care of pregnant people.)

So they definitely knew she was pregnant.

And if I remember my BBC documentaries right, a wolf will leave the pack to give birth and introduce the cubs to the pack once she feels ready for it. And maternity leave is flexible but often around 6 months so they’re going “YOU WERE GONE FOREVER! WE WERE SO WORRIED! WHERE ARE THE CUBS?? WE HAVE TO GREET THE CUBS!!“

Also the two on her back are fighting over who gets to greet her first. Giving and receiving attention is a commodity that goes by hierarchy and if you don’t accept that there will be scuffles.. The wolf lying down next to her isn’t chill about her coming back, it’s just submissive to the other wolves and waiting for it’s turn to show excitement.

Now I can see why we domesticated these adorable jerks.

To heal is to step out of your own victimhood. You are not what happened to you, it is not a reflection of who you are. Yes it happened and can be a part of you. But is both apart from you and a part – it is not you or who you are. To base who you are solely around your trauma is self sabotaging and means that you can never heal. You are still picking at that scab and opening it up again. Stop touching your wound. It’s like a scar on your arm or leg. It is there. It exists. It’s ugly. It can hurt and ache because the scar tissue is deep but your whole body isn’t the scar. Your trauma isn’t who you are. Step up and into the unknown and into the real true you outside of your scar.

You keep asking me how to befriend crows, so here is your answer.

upthewitchypunx:

First, you have to find the crows. If the crows don’t live there you
probably won’t find them. Second, you must remember that while they are
urban wildlife that have lived near humans for millennia, they are still
wild life and are to be respected and not to be commanded or captured. Crows do not owe you anything. They don’t owe you friendship and they don’t owe you their secrets.

I live in Portland, Oregon. We have crows the same way some cities have pigeons, they are everywhere and I love them. Ian B
and I had serious conversations 5 or 6 years ago when I first wanted to
get to know the crows in our neighborhood about how smart they are and how I shouldn’t give
them peanuts all the time because they would identify me and become
demanding.

Crows love peanuts, unsalted and in the shell. They will also eat all sorts of scraps. I saw one dragged a discarded taco bell bag down the street. Cat or dog food is good good too. Here’s an article with the top 10 best and worst things to feed crows.

I first
started feeding them on a specific corner half a block away so as to not use my
house as a the base. I saw that they would hang out on power lines and I would jingle my keys or make a specific sound with my mouth and then leave the peanuts on the corner curb. Crows will notice patterns so I gave them a patters of sound and place to associate with the peanuts. Crows are incredibly bold and at times daring, but they are very wary of new things. Give them some time for them to associate you with the treats. Once they associate you with the peanuts they could become curious about you as a friendly human.

I have met several generations of these crows and they have brought me gifts of small trinkets. They hang out on the wall across from my house and they hang out on the power lines while I work in the yard. My indoor/outdoor cat is afraid of them, but the crows have learned to leave him alone. I’ve gone outside with JackieCat and scooped him up to show the crows that I can handle the cat.

I work about a mile from my house and when walk or ride my bike to work I know each different family of crows along the way. They all have distinct personalities and even variations in their calls. Some are more chatty or aggressive or playful. One of them will fly right next to me down the street when I ride my bike. With each generation the younger crows are taught that I am a friend and source of food. I love their goofy awkward “feed me” calls as they are learning how to be a crow. You can spot young crows because there is still a pink webbing where their beak meets and they will beg for food from parents or helpers because that was how they were fed in the nest.

Listen to their calls and see if you can distinguish between alarm calls or friendly calls. Crows are also capable of mimicking sounds. They could mimic the sound you make. I’ve even heard one mimic a dog bark to a dog when it got too close to a peanut!

Watch the crows. see their family dynamics. The crows will also be watching you. Do not trick crows because they will remember.
