This list is great and all (I love Creole Queen!!) BUT!!! I can’t sit here and not open my mouth about Conjured Cardea bc I’ll be damned if I start seeing newer practitioners/people in general falling for her shit or giving her their hard earned money.
Conjured Cardea is extremely problematic and shouldn’t be on here at all; she’s super appropriative, racist, a plagiarist, extremely misinformed and frequently performs ceremonies and rituals she has no initiation for. She is literally another white women (or at least white passing) repackaging African spirituality for a quick buck with no actual knowledge or training and constantly mashes together different pantheons/religions as if they’re the same.
This woman has been known to call herself “red boned” (what the actual fuck lmao) and will scream and cry racism if you say anything about her practicing and being white. I was previously in a FB group with this woman that pretty much is entirely made up of racist white practitioners that try to white-wash Hoodoo, Voodoo, and pretty much history in general by trying to claim Hoodoo is a primarily Appalachian mountain practice by swamp people and other dumb ass shit. I had to quit the group because the members were extremely toxic, kept denying or minimizing any African-American influence in Hoodoo, and generally would bully and kick practitioners of color out of their group whenever someone spoke up, but would not abuse or kick out white people saying the same exact thing in regards to the group’s attitude towards racism.
This woman literally has absolutely NO idea what in the actual hell she’s talking about. Please don’t give this woman more exposure/send people to her with her cuadro of basura. She spreads A LOT, A LOOOT of misinformation. She’s literally a bully, a plagiarist, and has absoutely no FUCKING IDEA what the hell she’s even talking about.

She is a fraud with shitty products slapped together charging an arm and a leg. MANY people have called this woman out. MANY people have called her out for her misinformation, cultural appropriation, being shitty to people, and copying/stealing from other practitioners over the years.

Dear young witches who who are 13-17 or even younger. Do not take offense if an older witch who is a legal adult won’t teach you.
They’re legally not allowed to without your parent’s/guardian’s permission because you’re a minor and this law is in most countries and states (I know it’s illegal in the United States). Reason why, it counts as religious teaching (even though witchcraft itself is not a religion but a practice) and I know it sucks but that’s how it is.
If your parent/guardian doesn’t like you doing witchcraft or you’re in the woods we cannot even teach you in secret because that can look really bad; your parent/guardian could make up lies about us and get us in trouble with the authorities because they don’t want us teaching you or us being around you if they find out. I can already hear you saying “But I could defend you!” I’m really sorry but the judge isn’t going to believe a person as young as you. It’s a sad truth but minors are rarely listened to in court, especially in cases where it is parent versus teacher.
So, again, please don’t take offense if an older witch turns down teaching you the craft. We don’t hate you but we have to keep ourselves out of trouble and not end up arrested because your parents/guardians make up a lie.
However, you can still learn the craft without a mentor, it can be difficult but it can be done. Utilize Google, (Google is a modern witch’s best friend) it can lead you to various sources to learn from without a mentor. Be your own mentor if you can’t get one or wait until you’re no longer a minor (18 years of age in most countries) to seek a mentor.
In the meantime don’t take offense off an older witch won’t teach you because, again, us protecting ourselves from the law comes before us sharing and teaching our knowledge of the craft with others.

Have you ever been in a haze for so long you feel like that’s your new personality? But then you do something totally random and your old self wakes up and stretches a little, telling you what you thought was dead was only sleeping?
I did this random “Paint and Sip” thing tonight because a customer at my work told me I should… The haze lifted for a moment, my long-sleeping artistic side stretched and yawned, and I felt the tingle of magic course through me for the first time in months. I started to doubt myself because my favorite plant started to die and I’ve had no want to make so much as a cup of tea in my kitchen (a big thing for a kitchen witch). Could I really call myself a witch if I couldn’t practice? Could I even answer to the same name if I couldn’t tell you exactly who I was?
Now I finally feel confident in the fact that, practicing or not, I’m a witch. And my name will always be my name because my identity is allowed to fluctuate and grow to something new. Even if I feel like my life is in a haze, I’m still myself, and I’ll be myself even if I don’t feel like me for the moment.
