I know you don’t realize it yet, depending on the date, but yes she is being a shitty person and yes it’s okay to tell her so. Just because she’s your mom doesn’t mean it’s okay for her to treat you like you’re not valid.
It’s okay to drop people who don’t appreciate how much you try to keep your relationship afloat without their help.
That “brother” is trash, get rid of him before he breaks your heart.
All those suspicions you’ve had and thought were just you overreacting…. they’re right. Drop their asses and get diagnosed for that anxiety. Get back on the healthy eating thing and don’t look back. In Australia more than 70,000 people (0.37%) declared themselves members of the Jedi order in the 2001 census. Now granted, many of them were taking the piss but that is if nothing else a lot of piss-takers. An even greater percentage of the New Zealand population self-identified as Jedi in the 2001 census – 1.5%, which to put it in perspective is 0.3% more than said they were Buddhists. We’re due for another census this year (the normal five year pattern got thrown off by the Canterbury earthquake in 2011 so the most recent one was 2013) and due to popular demand it appears that on the new forms, there will actually be a box you can mark for Jedi, rather than it being a write-in option. (They’re also going to include things like identifying more denominations of Christianity and Judaism and more recently formed systems like Falun Gong, but obviously it’s the Jedi who make for a fun headline.)
So including a Jedi at the table of religious figures reflects an actual cultural (if not sincerely religious) phenomenon in this part of the world.

Yes. This. Beyond the obvious sociological and racial bias color-coding this way has, there’s also the fact that there is nothing “dark” or “bad” about working with the various types of magic these terms imply.
And oh yeah, these terms are totally vague and don’t give us any idea what the speaker is talking about.
What does “black/dark” magic even mean? Well, it can mean lots of things.
Baneful magic: jinx, hexes, and curses. And legit, BTW. Plenty of nice, friendly people use this sort of magic. Sometimes the mundane world doesn’t offer us the protection we need to be safe.
Necromancy: communication and other work with the deceased. Again, plenty of nice, friendly people work with the spirits of the dead. Death is just part of life.
Demonology: working with demons. Not all magical traditions consider demons to be “bad” or “evil.” They are just a different type of entity.
What does “light” magic even mean, for that matter? Prosperity spells? Healing spells? Weather magic for nicer weather? I mean…
These terms don’t help us have useful conversations about magic, and they are also not very considerate to POC and to practitioners of socially-maligned magical traditions.
