So, I’ve seen in several books and been told by several people that an athame is a representation of the element fire and that a wand is a representation of the element air. But now I’m seeing in other books that it’s the opposite (athame = air; wand = fire) Which is it? Can they be used interchangeably?? I’ve always used my athame to represent fire and my wand for air.

As far as I’ve seen they can be interchangeable. I don’t use a wand or an athame so I’m not well versed in their meanings and such. Sorry not to be of any more help than that. Thanks for asking. 🙂

is it bad that I’ve only been able to connect with decks I’ve been given? all the ones I buy stress me out when I try to read them and I just can’t focus without forcing it.. it’s frustrating.

Nope. It’s not bad at all. That’s just how you work with the tarot! I am the polar opposite. I’ve been given decks and we never worked out for one reason or another. I always feel like a gifted deck (for me) tends to attach itself to the buyer before me. Hey stay strong I know the feeling when your friend makes new friends. If you’re able to, I find it really helps to try and befriend your friend’s new friends as well–not only does it help me combat my anxiety around the fact, but it’s an new friend as well. Hope this helps :)
