orphicduckie: To think about your gods today. Honour them with your thoughts, your actions. It’s enough. You are enough.
cannibalcoalition: copperclaws: bransrath: christowitch: lesruinesduvieuxpont: How can one “revere” the old gods from various European folk religions nowadays? I mean, how can you revere gods that are closely tied with a lifestyle when that lifestyle has disappeared? How can you revere Epona when you don’t know how to ride a horse, Thor when you’ve never fought,Continue reading
If you think a deity is calling you, ask why. What is he or she calling you for? There is an idea floating around that every Pagan should have his or her own patron deity. This is a nice thought, but it doesn’t align with what our ancient ancestors believed nor with the experience ofContinue reading
i need advice. i’m an atheist, don’t believe in any gods but i love certain greek gods. could i worship, make altars to, or ask them for help in spells without actually believing in their existence? is there such thing as a hellenic atheist? thanks!
lunac-witchcraft: reveidolon: windvexer-deactivated20160501: Any Hellenic folks want to jump in on this one? I don’t think so. I mean, that sounds pretty disrespectful to me. Making a small shrine and not believing in them might be okay but don’t ask them for favors when you don’t even believe in them. “I don’t believe in youContinue reading “i need advice. i’m an atheist, don’t believe in any gods but i love certain greek gods. could i worship, make altars to, or ask them for help in spells without actually believing in their existence? is there such thing as a hellenic atheist? thanks!”
Same anon asking about your Gods…. Who is Cernunnos? Again, genuinely curious, sorry if I’m bothering you
There’s no really good answer to that. Some know Him as the Wiccan “Horned God” or “The Green Man”, but that’s not His origin. There really isn’t much written about Him that is verified. In my experience He is a Psychopomp (an entity that helps souls pass on to the other side). A lot of people see HimContinue reading “Same anon asking about your Gods…. Who is Cernunnos? thegodthief: The corollary is what is between a god and you is between you and your god. If what you have is working and all signs point to that god giving affirmation to continue, then no one has the right to police your private relationship. It is Unverified Personal Gnosis, not Universal Personal Gnosis.
This is a genuinely curious question….who are your Gods, if you’re okay with talking about them?
I don’t mind, nonny. My main deity is Cernunnos in the sense that He’s the one I work and deal with the most closely and often. I also have regular drop-ins from Thor, have “talked” with all of my friends Gods, and had a few others drop in on tarot readings for their devotees.
You are good enough for your gods.
chronarchy: This is your gentle reminder that the work you do for the gods, goddesses, spirits, and fair folk is good enough and valuable. The offerings you make are gifts appreciated. The prayers you give voice to are heard and loved. The spare change you donate at a park or sacred space adds up. TheContinue reading “You are good enough for your gods.”
