Things I Wish I Had Known When I Started Practicing
pastellewitchcraft: Chakras are part of closed practices. Find a different theory on energy centres and how they work. I have my own here but there are many more that exist. Do your research. Question everything. Don’t follow Tumblr posts blindly. Do your research, make sure that research is credible. Some authors out there are shittyContinue reading “Things I Wish I Had Known When I Started Practicing”
wilesandsmiles: “Remember why you became a polytheist. Perhaps you prayed and Someone unexpected answered. Perhaps a Goddess tapped you on the shoulder and said “you’re mine.” Perhaps you realized that the world is better explained by many Gods of limited power and scope than by one all-powerful God and you decided that following Them wasContinue reading
Godkin and Godspouses
thespiralpath: Originally I had written this in response to others who had a lot of misconceptions and misinformation about what Godkin and Godspouses were, so I decided this needed to be its own post to be available for searching. While Godkin and Godspouses are new terms in the modern world developing out of modern revivalContinue reading “Godkin and Godspouses”
Do you have any advice for someone who has always been Christian, and who genuinely believes in the Christian faith, but who has recently had an encounter with one of the Norse gods? There’s been a lot of synchronicities in my life lately that are way too clear to be a coincidence, but I’m not sure how to fit this deity and their call into my life and practice without sacrificing my previously-held beliefs. Any thoughts?
north-of-annwn: Hi there, I can totally relate to where you are coming from. Early in my Pagan path I was Christo pagan and I was struggling with the something similar. So let me answer from a more Christian perspective, out of respect for your beliefs and religious perspective. According to the Bible, “you should haveContinue reading “Do you have any advice for someone who has always been Christian, and who genuinely believes in the Christian faith, but who has recently had an encounter with one of the Norse gods? How do I know of what I’m seeing is a sign from a deity? I doubt myself, which is due to my mental illness, and I’m not sure whether or not to act on these beliefs. And do I just choose which deity to worship, or is it the other way around? Thank you so much!
pomegranateandivy-deactivated20: You don’t know. If there was a way to prove that something was a sign beyond any shadow of a doubt, then people wouldn’t fight over if deities were real or how to worship or what They want. People will tell you that the gut feeling, the sun shining through leaves, the way music makesContinue reading “How do I know of what I’m seeing is a sign from a deity? Why do the gods even tolerate me .-.
Dearest Nonny, If I could answer that for you with certainty I would. I can’t speak for the Gods on this one. I mean I could try, but that’s just not something that I feel would truly benefit myself or you. This is what I will say, though: Maybe They are interested to see where youContinue reading “Why do the gods even tolerate me .-.”
My Peaceful Passing ritual is one of my least favorite things to perform, but at the same time there’s something beautiful about asking the Gods/Universe to lend a hand in someone’s passing to make certain they are peaceful and cared for on their way to the afterlife. The need for such a ritual is neverContinue reading
