Could you share some tips on doing readings for others? I find it hard to articulate what the cards are really trying say when i do one for someone else.

I do! I currently own the Shadowscapes Tarot and the Linestrider Tarot. I can’t really pick a fave between them, because I love them both. They’re both wonderful to read with and I connected with them very quickly. is it bad that I’ve only been able to connect with decks I’ve been given? all the ones I buy stress me out when I try to read them and I just can’t focus without forcing it.. it’s frustrating.

Nope. It’s not bad at all. That’s just how you work with the tarot! I am the polar opposite. I’ve been given decks and we never worked out for one reason or another. I always feel like a gifted deck (for me) tends to attach itself to the buyer before me. hello! is it true that in order for a tarot deck to work properly, you cannot purchase it yourself? someone must give it to you?

That is a myth and is not true at all! In fact, I only ever buy my own decks and they work absolutely fine! Gifted decks work just as well as bought decks and just as well as handmade decks! Not really TMI but kind of a confession. I hate reading with reversals. I’ve been doing it more recently because a while back SwampSeer made all those posts about how she personally doesn’t think you’re a good reader if you just do cards upright and positive or whatever. I think it’s just fine to read all upright because tarot can still give you a negative meaning even if the card isn’t reversed. So many people agreed that I started reading with reversals and my readings are worse now .
