odinnsdottir: spiritvexer: druid-witch: This is not a competition. Take it slow, enjoy the journey. You do not need to learn every crystal correspondence within a week. Keep a journal/Grimoire/Book of Shadows if possible. Fill it up as you go. Do not just put the information somewhere to wait until you “have time” or “have moreContinue reading “Things I wish somebody had told me in the beginning: witch edition”

Hinduism and Buddhism are not closed religions, I don’t think using the terms karma and chakras is bad. If you can’t use those terms (which are used by non-witches and karma is used by almost everybody) what words would you use to describe it? Chakras have been us e by pagans in general for years, you see stones that are used for the throat chakra, third eye, etc. what else are you supposed to do?
witchy-woman: justaqueerwitchy: coffeeandwashitape: I know they’ve been used by pagans for years, just like “smudging” has and all the other problematic words. I have an issue with people throwing “karma” around too, not because they aren’t real things, but because the way we use them (like almost everything we love to pick and choose from other cultures)Continue reading “Hinduism and Buddhism are not closed religions, I don’t think using the terms karma and chakras is bad. bloodredkrowe: will-o-the-witch: A much more experienced friend and I had a conversation yesterday about magic and the nature of sensing it. This is someone who magically speaking, I consider to be a human battery. Still, she said even she sometimes has doubts about her own work. Yet I, the barely-above-witchling level practitioner, had power inContinue reading
Witch tip: No matter what anyone says, trust yourself. If your gut is telling you something, albeit butterflies or acid, there is a reason for it. Do not believe you are an exception to the environment around you. You influence it and it, you.
nightowlsuggestion: Your name is powerful. It is a spell with magic and brimstone interwoven into every syllable that rolls off your tongue like milk and honey. It is your war cry and a hushed lullaby. It is the beat of your heart and the quiver of truth. It is all you are, your entire beingContinue reading

Spells fail because you have a weak aura & mind.
constantly-disheveled: witchy-woman: breelandwalker: will-o-the-witch: I mean they CAN, but there can also be numerous other factors at play that cause a spell to bust. I try not to interpret it as a personal flaw, for confidence’s sake ✨ -sets coffee mug down with a hard THUNK and stands up to address the anon- Okay, listenContinue reading “Spells fail because you have a weak aura & mind.”
witchygoblin: Shoutout to witches with “dark,” or “dirty” practices. Witches who use spit, blood, sweat, urine, or sexual fluids. Witches who use curses, literal and figurative in their casting. Who include knives and vulgar gestures and hatred in their spells–at least when it’s necessary. Don’t let the holier-than-thou crowd get you down, you’re far fromContinue reading
It seems that when people have actual problems you suddenly forget all about ‘magic’ and just tell them to seek real practical solutions
natural-magics: lavenderwrath: thepaganstudygrouppage: Because this isn’t Harry Potter and it’d be stupid not to. Magic doesn’t solve all your problems. A job spell doesn’t mean anything if you never send out resumes. All the wards in the world don’t replace a lock on the front door. A friendship spell is going to have a hardContinue reading “It seems that when people have actual problems you suddenly forget all about ‘magic’ and just tell them to seek real practical solutions”
